Phantom Thief Recruitment!

I'm looking to ramp up Ren's involvement in Phantom Thief activities through a series of smaller plots ramping up the targeting of corrupt humans and changing their heart - in essence causing them to admit their crimes by means of removing their ability to ignore and rationalize their sins. In general, I'd like to get a small crew together to aid in these efforts. There are a few ways we can do this, to have a shot at joining the Phantom Thieves of Heart the character should meet one of the requirements:

-A character who is being terrorized by some corrupt individual who can be saved from this in the process
-A character who spends a decent amount of time in the Outlands and would witness Ren going about his work
-A character with close CR to Ren who also has a strong sense of justice that Ren would see value in recruiting.

In general, the plots should follow a basic structure and are open to weave into other players' personal plots and issues - the team identifies a target, finds their Palace (a metaphysical construct in the Outland brought about by their corrupt desires), enters it, and steals the treasure at the core of the Palace to eradicate the distortion. This will likely dovetail into a confrontation with more corrupt Supernatural entities directly tied to Nightfall, but in general my hope is to keep the plot grounded in issues with corrupt humans as opposed to more overtly supernatural foes.

If you're interested, let me know and how you want to approach getting involved! I'll probably run a Palace every two-ish months, possibly sooner depending on the interest and ideas involved.

So I already left indication of interest in the plurk, but I'm gonna say something here just to, uh, leave a more official indication of interest with the idea of targeting the head sponsor of the Peacekeepers--a cowardly sellout willing to ruin and end lives in exchange for a little protection could certainly make for an appealing target, right? :V And Lia needs to confront what's been happening back home anyway.

Minako is in, obviously. She herself doesn't have a group of people that she will be going after, but will be acting as support. I have intentions of giving her a palace eventually, but in the meantime, there will be a number of strong shadows that will appear in the various palaces that will need to be defeated.

What did you have in mind Palace-wise? Any particular person in her life who needs a change of heart?

Weheheheeeell, Adelaide definitely hits the "is in the Outlands" frequently bit! She's spent a lot of time there doing questionable things (like...fighting necromancers) and also spends a lot of time out there training with Rex, so it's entirely possible she would've run into Ren and some point or seen him off in the distance.

Being a Phantom Thief wouldn't be the worse decision she's made, anyways.

Therion could be a good case for #1, but he's not currently being tormented by the guy I'm thinking of. At least, not actively. Would the setup still work for you if someone who severely damaged Therion's trust was out there still doing bad things, just not to Therion in particular?

Are you thinking she'd hop into a Palace on her own and meet the thieves there?

That's definitely legit. Would Therion witness the Phantom Thieves going after him? Or possibly have heard what they're doing and put in a request on the net?

As the Phantom Thieves get more attention, Therion'll be keeping tabs on their site and activities. Once he sees his old partner's name (Darius) on there as someone to go after, he'd actually leave a comment himself warning the PTs not to go after that guy. It'd establish Therion as an easily accessible lead on Darius, if they can track Therion down through his IP address or something.

It'll take some doing to win him over--he might need to tag along on another Palace first, even--but once Therion's convinced the PTs don't have a death wish, he'll be able to give them both the location and appearance of Darius's Palace all in one go. He's also a useful resource for infiltration in general, since, y'know. Literally an actual thief.

Her father, Jacques Schnee. a very corrupt businessman, with questionable safety practices. His Palace would be the Schnee Mining Company HQ, represented as a castle, with his Shadow as the Emperor. The cognitives would be puppets, pulled along by strings.
