Clocktowers Beneath the Sea (OOC Plotting Post!)
At long last, the player plot I have been wanting to do for awhile is finally happening!
Sometime later this month (Mid December maybe? Assuming it doesn't overlap with any other major events and all goes well IRL), Puella is going to abruptly vanish from Daybreak. Unheard or spoken to for multiple of hours. However if anyone enters the first floor of the Aube common room they will find a small blue vortex floating in place. Should they interact with it they are going to feel their surrounding distort and then pulled into another plane of existence. They have entered a Time Rift.
What is the World of Dreams?
The World of Dreams is basically another name for the Time Rift, or Time Rifts can be seen as the portals that lead in and out of it. It is a vast, seemingly endless dimension that is wedged between the Outlands and Earth most comprised of almost entirely of mist. In a way, it's basically the rawest form of mist, so much so that even the smallest of thoughts can change it's appearance.
When the mist isn't being interacted with, the world looks like a massive city of large clocktowers with floating stain glass landmasses and 'islands' to walk around on. It is also filled with some kind of breathable water. But if the mist is activated, it will shape into anything from that character's memory. Recreating it to exactly how the character remembers it, so a particularly good memory might be even better or a bad one could actually be worse. Depending on which option you want to take.
Am I in Danger?
Actually compared to most off campus locales, this one is actually relatively safe. If you do somehow fall off one of the landmasses you don't seem to get hurt and only return back on top of it. Particularly bad memories could potentially injure a character, but that might only be because the character 'willed' it to happen. It all depends on how much the character gives in to the memory being real. The same is also true for good memories, although in that case, it could be too good that they never want to leave.
TR;DL: It's mainly up to player preference.
There is no one else around but the people from Daybreak that got pulled in. Anything created by the mist is not exactly real. In fact, the world even has some kind of lonesome, abandoned feeling to it...
The Two Entities
Much deeper into the World of Dreams, Puella is going to come across two individuals; a man and woman (That I will do the best of the efforts to NPC), also with their own fashionable style of tophats who have been living here for a very, very long time. They are the two remaining memories of the society that once used to keep this world guarded, and used its power to protect humanity from the Outlands centuries ago. As such, they are very not fond of nonhumans and won't be happy if they find out some of them managed to find a way inside, after all this time. (Whoops...)
How do I get out?
Once Puella is done, she can use the Time Piece she has to get everyone back to the common room. It is the only possible way to leave, so she presumably had to go looking for anyone that also got lost in there. This can also be easily handwaved if necessary.
How long is the plot?
ICly it is going to take up the whole day.
