Avery's Daemon Contracting Midterm
Avery's class is known for occasionally straying towards the unconventional, and this extends to his midterms. Students taking his class will be given/ have been given a prompt a few days in advance: a contact that they must rip apart in an essay, pointing out as many holes in it as possible and exclaiming how they would take advantage of the loopholes in question. He has stated that he intends to grade these essays very harshly.
The day before the essay comes due, he'll post to the network, offering a deal. If the student can beat him in a race, they will automatically earn themselves an A on their midterm.
This, of course, is just an alternate midterm.
Essentially, he's going to try and word the terms of this race in whatever way he can to make it in his favor. The one term that he is not going to budge on is that it will take place at a time of his choosing (a time at which the participants' shadows will be able to pass over the finish line at a good distance). Beyond that, the terms change per student, depending on the questions that they ask and their negotiation skills. He will be ICly (though not OOCly, of course), screening replies to his offer to minimize collusion. This doesn't stop people from messaging one another to form plans of their own.

We can work out if you want your character to win or lose and how to go about making either happen. If people would be interested, I can also put up a log for mingling/playing the actual race out.
