The following events are available for the month of August.

Mark of the Herald (starts August 3rd, all month)
The strange marks foreseen by the Seers have made themselves known - all across the world, those who share human blood are manifesting an odd mark and falling into deep sleep. Haunted by surreal and terrifying dreamscapes, those that are affected begin to manifest strange new powers. And for those who live alongside humans, not even they can escape it...

Alien Invasion (August 20th)
Aliens are descending upon campus! - well, not really. As one of the many institutions affected by the strange and ominous marking foreseen by the Seers, a veritable carnival of magically medical creatures and their caretakers are visiting the Academy to do extensive checkups and tests on the student and staff body, in the hopes of finding any links between those who become infected, and those who are not. As a reward for being subjected to tests, they’ve brought along all manner of interesting and macabre artifacts and samples to give students and staff alike biology lessons for their trouble.
To help this traveling medical team disguise themselves as they move through mundane areas, several teams from Daybreak have been sent out in advance using many of the handmade ‘resources’ from last month’s efforts to make it look like it’s simply an eccentric, alien-themed show - or, alternatively, make it look so over the top that people will simply make up their own explanations for something that’s ‘fake’.


Faculty-run/Monthly Events
Mini-prompts that can be incorporated into catchall logs, or made into logs of their own. These prompts count for faculty log AC as long as at least one faculty member is responsible for starting the log, though they can also be joint logs.
Players are free to incorporate these prompts into their own logs, even if they are not faculty.

Prop Hunt
Everyone’s a little stressed right now, and in a school full of magic, that means stray spells and leaking magical energy. As a result of this distraction, objects around the school are spontaneously springing to life, and they seem determined to make life much, much harder for those who need them. Anything from pens to paperwork, even the occasional desk and chair, can be seen hightailing it out of classrooms. Watch your step!

Icy Treats
August brings muggy, summery weather, and with it a whole range of people, from enterprising to genuinely helpful, offering all kinds of tricks and treats to cool people down. Whether you’re competing with other classes or students to raise some impromptu funds or you just want to play pranks, the Academy has accepted that this year, the last hurrah of summer will be found in the sheer amount of ice and water flying across the campus.

Gladiatorial Games
The heat has roused the spirits of the ancient legionnaires who watch over their former quarters, and they’ve gotten more than a little rowdy about encouraging people to participate in historical re-enactment. Chariot races in particular, are becoming rather popular; throughout the month, it’s not uncommon to see DIY chariots pulled by spectral steeds racing around campus. Whether you want to tell them to knock it off or are participating in the fun yourself, it seems like there’s going to be more work for the infirmary all around.
