Ghost Whispering Plot

Greetings fellow trashfires. It's time for another player plot.

Following the attempt to take out a necromancer in the Outlands, Keith will have gotten access to a rare crystal that can be used as an amplifier/catalyst to enhance the strength of a necromancer's magic. Kisara has previously expressed the desire to have a seance in order to talk to people from her past life, and Keith will be loaning her the crystal to hopefully establish a connection to the dead.

It works a little too well unfortunately.

What's happening:
The spell will distort the lines between the worlds of the living and the dead for anyone who chooses to opt into the event. This means characters who are affected will be extremely sensitive to the dead -- almost like they've awakened an unused sense, so to speak.

This will have a range of effects from merely hearing the dead to being able to see the dead in milder cases. In more severe cases, it may cause a character to believe they themselves have joined the other side or that others around them have.

Who your character hears or sees or what they might end up believing is entirely up to player discretion. They could be family or loved ones who want to talk to you, someone you loathed who is now aggressively haunting you, or even just the sad dead ghosts of all the soldiers who perished in Australia.... it's up to you.

The event is purely optional. If you would prefer not to deal with these shenanigans, then no worries the spell simply didn't affect your character for whatever reason.

When it's happening:
The event will take place ICly on August 5th and the effects will last one week.

Consequences:
As of right now I don't have anything specifically planned out in terms of consequences for this event, but both Kisara's player and I are down to plot out any consequences re: getting caught and so on.
