another player plot incoming

Would you like Bad Things to happen to your character? Help take down a massive pro-Nightfall faction in the Outlands? Yes? Here be some deets about an upcoming player plot for November that has some potential for body horror, psychological horror and/or general experimentation and torture.

What's happening?
The Galra (Keith's lycan clan) are a powerful faction in the Outlands that are actively working towards Nightfall. With the information collected from Toki's website and the failed attack on the school by the necromancer who set the Grimm upon school, they have decided to take a more subtler means to dismantling Daybreak's forces.

Begining in the early weeks of November, NPC students that were featured on Toki's website exposing the truth about Daybreak will be acting... a little off? They went home to visit family and friends back home for a few days and have come back seemingly normal, though they seem to be watching you, maybe? Hm. Besides that, they're acting exactly as they would.

As for what's actually happening....

Beginning November 26th through December 5th player characters who sign up will find that while they're off campus, they'll be knocked out and wake up in a cell in the heart of Galran Central Command where they will find that they've become the subject of some... experiments.

What kind of experiments?
Funny you should ask. The Galra are interested in testing the limits of Daybreak's forces, gaining more intel... and in some cases may be looking to enhance them. Basically, this runs the full gambit of torture (physical or psychological), giving your characters experimental cyborg parts or experimental drugs with strange effects, afflicting characters with lycanthropy, as well as the potential for mind control.
For characters that choose the "mind control" option, they will be sent back to Daybreak Academy after a few days with no recollection of the incident. But everything they do will be observable by the Galra. They will also play another potential role that I'll detail further down.

For characters that choose the "torture/other fuckery" option, congrats, your character will be taken hostage and kept at Central Command until the end of the event on December 6th.

EDIT for clarification: Characters who choose to go the brainwash route can also have been tortured/other shenanigans happen to them. The main difference is that characters who opt for this route will be released back to the Academy 1-2 days after their capture. They will not remember what happened to them and will appear unharmed, which means there would not be any physical modifications to their bodies. Once the event is over and the brainwashing effect has been lifted, they will regain those memories. Characters that are not brainwashed will bd kept prisoner until the end of the event. As these characters will not be released, this is the option you'd wanna go for if you are interested in playing any heavy torture/physical modifications!
I will be apping an NPC character for this event and posting a log to play scenes out with anyone who signs up. Details will be hashed out with players individually and tailored to whatever you guys specifically are interested in having happen to your character. This log will be posted early in mid November and forward dated.

How are we stopping this?
On December 6th, Daybreak Forces will launch an attack on Galran Central Command and a fight will ensue. Another log will be posted for this event. It's going to be a difficult battle as the base is well fortified with automated defenses and magic. I'll be NPCing a boss fight so come rescue friends and help crush an evil empire!

In addition, characters who opted for the "mind control" flavor of experimentation will find that they will lose control of their bodies and attack their fellow students and faculty to defend the base. They will be fully aware that they have lost control of their bodies and will be aware that they may be attacking friends and loved ones.

Conclusion??
This will actually depend on IC decisions made by characters. At the end of this event, an IC poll will be put up for people to vote on what to do with the Galran emperor that launched this campaign against Daybreak, so stay tuned.

How do I sign up?
By responding to the "SIGN UP" comment below.

Please feel free to use this post for planning and discussions amongst yourselves! Whether ir be plans for the kidnapping or plans for the battle, let's go. I tried to plan this around everything else going on in Novemeber so hopefully nothing should clash or overlap. If you have any questions, feel free to leave them on this post or poke me on plurk ( [plurk.com profile] partyraven )

Player Name: Eski
Character Name: James Moriarty
Character Info: Human, mostly having a lot of magic in his system keeping him alive with a constant glamour on, and butterflies that can lift things/alert others. Feels no pain from anything that doesn't mess with his spine or nerves, regenerates from wounds relatively quickly, and dies but revives quickly (an hour or more) unless it's severe damage (then it can take a day or two). Also has a link with a vampire so he conks out from dawn to noon, mostly. More details are on his app!
Date of kidnapping: Between November 26th - December 5th
Preferences: CHOO CHOO ALL ABOARD THE TORTURE/OTHER FUCKERY TRAIN
Avoid: Honestly I don't think I want the lycanthropy stuff (I'm...not even sure it'd take with his whole...thing??) But legit it's me, Maru, you know I am all about the body horror. Fuck up this old man.
zarkoff: (Default)

[personal profile] zarkoff 2019-11-06 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm not sure the lycanthropy stuff would work with Moriarty's whole ... everything either anyway LOL. We'll definitely keep that on the "avoid" list.

But ye, I gotchu, Eski! I think his regenerative abilities would definitely intrigue these guys a whole lot and they'll for sure want to test its full potential. I know you're down for general pain and suffering which the Galra will happily (?) supply... How would you feel about like digit/limb amputation or things like deliberate injections of poison/neurotoxins to see if Moriarty is capable of generating antibodies to this stuff? :D

I'm fine with limb amputation! He'd be like PUT IT BACK OR IT'S GONNA TAKE ME A WHOLE GODDAMN TWO MONTHS TO REGROW, ngl, but I'm cool with it! Though they'd notice the offending limb/digit/etc is still warm to the touch, due to his whole magic regen.

Poison would also be okay, but he is basically a normal human so HE'D DIE....but then just come back to life if they wait long enough (mostly an hour tbh with poisons, since it takes *major* damage to all of him to be anything like a day or two.), so however they'd react to 'oh SHIT he actually dies and comes back to life'!

Also again he is stuffed to the goddamn brim with magic if they'd be interested in that.

Guess what, I'm not torturing Kisara this time around.

Player Name: Star
Character Name: Jolyne Cujoh
Character Info: I mean, she's a human. But also there's the whole fact that her familiar lets her unwind up to 70% of her body into strings. Which can be used for various bullshit as well as punching. Also kinda oddly durable. Other than that, pretty normal.
Date of kidnapping: Whatever works best for you, bb.
Preferences: HEY, FUCK ME UP FAM. So both torture and mind control shit is pretty cool. She's pretty down for both.
Avoid: N/A, honestly. GIMME SOME FUCKED UP SHIT.
zarkoff: (zarkon sidetalk)

[personal profile] zarkoff 2019-11-06 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
HMMMM. Since Jolyne's gonna be mind controlled, she can be one of the earlier kiddos that gets kidnapped and sent back! I'm thinking like November 26-28th if that works for you? She won't remember anything that happened until after they break mind control spell at the end of the event!

AS FOR THE FUN AND TORTURE PART OF THIS>.....

Since they're sending Jolyne back, they'll probably do their best to erase any physical evidence of misdeeds but I'm kinda liking the idea of maybe something like Jolyne trying to punch her way of the situation only to get caught up in a mindfuck kind of trippy spell? Are there any psychological fears of Jolyne's that you'd wanna play out? Cuz alternatively there is also the cruder option of keeping Jolyne under conscious sedation while they implant a receiver device inside her body that's keeping her mind controlled.....

Player Name: Luna
Character Name: James Griffin
Character Info: Human Candle. He can float. Yay.
Date of kidnapping: December 2nd.
Preferences: WEREWOLF THE BOY.
Avoid: Ideally, James would be somewhat in fighting condition by the time of rescue. Maybe.
zarkoff: (sendak delighted)

[personal profile] zarkoff 2019-11-06 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
HOVERWOLF.

Okay, so I think with James since you want him to be in mostly fighting condition, they'll be keeping him locked in his cell. I can see the Galra interrogating him in a way simila to the way the Druids do with physical pain as incentive to talk.... and I think if the topic ends up on what HE can do and he's just ALL I CAN DO IS HOVER... that might be the impetus for lol we can fix that. Hence, biting to make him more ""useful"".

But it can come up in other ways. What do you think?

Player Name: Usagi
Character Name: Jonathan Joestar
Character Info: So Jonathan is straight up a ghost in a bat. He's also capable of using 'Hamon', which in AU terms is basically weaponized radiance. What does Hamon do?? It lets you heal! It lets you eradicate the undead! It channels harmlessly through living matter like a rapier to shatter things, and apparently you can like?? magnetize leaves? walk on water?? Hamon is weird what's important is he can no longer punch with that stuff so instead he just uhhhhhhf...freakin makes himself a horrible hamon bullet.

That's all cool but really all you need is 'there's a ghost in the bat' and 'you can Definitely imprison him in a plastic box really easy'

This is exactly why you're gonna find him in Jolyne's Purse
Date of kidnapping: Between November 26th - December 5th
Preferences: SEE I DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT WE CAN...DO TO A BAT??? There's so much we could do to a bat, that said
Avoid: I'd rather not do mind control! Mostly because it just feels icky with Jonathan's character in particular.

bonus note everyone's joking around the idea of jonathan being the equivalent of that dog who escapes everything and gives the heads up that HEY SHIT'S NOT RIGHT AND PEOPLE ARE MISSING so if that seems appealing then sssssureeee
zarkoff: (zarkon talking)

[personal profile] zarkoff 2019-11-06 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
GHOST IN A BAT, I'm still laughing wtf.

HMM. Okay, no mind control, no worries there! There is indeed a lot that can be done to a bat, lol. How would you feel about failed attempts made with black magic to exorcize him out of the bat?

And since Jonathan will be there with Jolyne and she's getting sent back early as a killswitch, then Jonahtan could feasibly go back with her and attempt to warn people, though -- I think the Galra would absolutely make it clear that if Jonathan steps too far out of lines by warning people, Jolyne will suffer for it. So be subtle, Jonathan!!!

Character Name: Anastasia Rose
Character Info: Human. Like. 100% human who happens to know runic scriptures.
Date of kidnapping: November 30th
Preferences: God I would love to see Ana with cheek marks like Krolia's. Also maybe some kind of supernatural modification would be cool.
Avoid: Nothing too gory please! If there's a psychological option for this I'd rather go with that than physical torture.
zarkoff: (zarkon sidetalk)

[personal profile] zarkoff 2019-11-06 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
aCHEEK MARKS CAN BE DONE! Though putting the cheek marks on in the first place would probably involve some kind of physical torture.....

UNLESS you would like for Ana to burn them onto herself because she's under some magical hallucination where she thinks there's stuff literally eating her face and she has to burn it off with a weapon they give her. It could be part of the affect of a serum they inject in her to test mental resilience/resistance to a certain magical hallucinogenic compound??

Let me know what you think!

Player Name: Kathrine
Character Name: Sarona Gayle
Character Info: Human, but Sarona has rune tattoos on her body that give her enhancements. There is a long one down her arm that allows her to metal-bend (manipulate and shapeshift metal at her will), another on her back that is the same blue as her hair made with a specialized ink (and why her hair is blue) for basic rune armor piloting, one on her chest that stabilizes her health, and another on her thigh that temporarily enhances her speed to flicker-levels. She's a rune guard prodigy and extremely talented in golem-making.
Date of kidnapping: Whatever date works for you.
Preferences: Mind control and Torture if you please.
Avoid: No turning into a lycan but anything else goes! (Also I like to avoid torture involving bodily fluids that aren't like blood/sweat/tears.)
zarkoff: (zarkon sulking)

[personal profile] zarkoff 2019-11-06 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
That all sounds good to me! We'll stay away from body fluids and lycanthropy then! As for her date of disappearance.... how would you feel about Sarona being captured December 2nd? That way she'd be captured along with James and can... have a friend (?) haha.

Re: her tattoos and being a rune prodigy.... SO this could be interesting and I can see them trying to torture her into making rune enhancements for some their weaponry, if you're at all interested that element of it at all. The upside to this being when the base gets infiltrated and the prisoners are set free, Sarona could probably dismantle some of the defenses more readily!!

It might be that they initially try to offer her a deal, but it goes south when Sarona refuses or something and they end up hitting her up with a paralytic and torture can be either inflicted magically (as in she mentally experiences pain) or physical depending on your preference here! Alternatively if you'd prefer to go into the psychological torture route, it could be they inject her with a potent hallucinogen that makes her wig out badly/live out her fears in her head.

Let me know what you think!

Player Name: Naz
Character Name: Tobias
Character Info: Human, who prefers to spend the majority of his time as a red-tailed hawk. He's able to store and transform into any animal he touches (including people) with the intent to copy them--the animals he becomes are not magical on their own in any way, beyond being able to 'speak'.
Date of kidnapping: December 2nd
Preferences: Honestly, just stuffing him in a glass box with no holes big enough to escape through would be More Than Enough Suffering, that said, they could force him into various shapes and run tests on them to see if they differ from unmagical animals, idk. Give him a good fear of veterinarians.
Avoid: He's already having to deal with being turned against friends, maybe not that again so soon.
zarkoff: (zarkon armored)

[personal profile] zarkoff 2019-11-06 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
You got it, we'll avoid the killswitch option!

I can definitely see the Galra being VEEEEERY interested in trying to duplicate Tobias's ability to shapeshift into other animals as it could be used in Trojan horse type military strategies and they are probably gonna want a couple of vials of blood from him to see if there's anything in his DNA that can be weaponized.........

Also yep -- very likely to try adn get Tobias to morph into various critters to see just how well he can replicate their forms. How would you feel about him being forced to acquire and morph some weird outland beasts under threat of pain?

Player Name: Eric
Character Name: Zagreus
Character Info: Zagreus is a demigod, being the son of Hades and Persephone (a mortal woman, in this reality). Like any good member of the Greek pantheon, Zagreus is very powerful, but just as easily tricked as any normal human.
Date of kidnapping: Let's say they got him early on before anyone knew what was going on. November 26th
Preferences: Make that boy a sleeper agent! They might have tried to torture him but he has a remarkable amount of pain tolerance, having died like a hundred times trying to escape the underworld.
Avoid: No cyborg bits or lycanthropy
zarkoff: (zarkon talking)

[personal profile] zarkoff 2019-11-06 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
You got it! Zagreus can definitely have been one fo the first to have gotten caught and sent back as a sleeper agent!

Haha, I'm vaguely amused by the thought of them TRYING to fuck with him except it just doesn't WORK so they're like "oh FUCK let's just put him under with magic and see if the rest of these daybreak folks are this resilient." Beign a demi god would paralytics and the like work on him out of curiosity?

They'll probably have to resort to using their necromancer ally to cast the final spell that scrambles his mind enough that he can be sent back and be used to observe faculty adn students.
