Cult Deception Plot AKA student kidnapping 2: electric boogaloo

Do you wanna have your muse get messed with psychologically and run away dramatically into the loving dangerous arms of a cult ready to snap their necks when they don't join for the sake of the drama and character development? Sure you do!

This plot is set on New Year, but will be backdated from January 6th (a month from now!) so everyone can settle down from their RL festivities.

Be aware that based on prior discussion it's highly likely there will be violence and death (on the antagonists' parts) in this plot.

So what is this cult? What's their deal?
They're Pro-Nightfall, they're insidious in planting seeds of doubt in multiple schools and targeting those who succumb, so they may come to their safe sanctuary-- the winner's side. And those who don't want to switch sides are now in a nice queue to be destroyed while getting their powers sucked out! The assumption is this has been a long plan in the waiting, its movement strengthened after Wild Hunt and the recent Galra abductions. Basically, these people have been the characters' fake friends for a while now.

I want my muse to be a victim but they're not easy to deceive / scared or meek!
Sure!

a. If they're a good actor, maybe they could decide to take it in their own hands to come along as a mole to investigate. Be aware that the cult themselves are pretty careful, and depending on how many people go for this option and are working together we may RNG or talk out if they were just pretending not to notice!

b. Who likes their private life not being private? You don't? Too bad! From what it looks like these fake photos of long lost loved ones look very legit. Might be worth entertaining that they're not Shopped. (And to be completely fair, they're not, it's magic based on your own memory.) Manipulations are assumed to be handwaved by default, but if you'd like to thread them IC-ly can be requested!

How's this rescue happening?
Some students, whether NPC or the moles above, will have left a bread crumb trail for our heroes! So it really depends on our signups and their personalities, but there will be a "default" fallback for plot advancement if we trip up in some details.

Do we get NPC's for mook battles?
Yes, if you'd like! You can write them yourselves with your partner too. Depending on requests (and fun!) getting some help with the bad guys would be lovely though.

How bad are the bad things?
Mostly, it's psychological! Surely these weaklings don't deserve the grace and kindness of those rescuing them and it is much better if someone braver were blessed with their power and they stopped occupying space. People who join though? You're in luck! You're showered in all the cheers and affections of being part of the new world. Don't forget to apply the rune which is your Hollywood cyanide pill after signing up!

Physically though, if you want to mess around with graphic torture you may do so. I am not experienced enough in writing these to give you a great bad time, so I'll leave it to you!

I'm in! Is there a character limit?
Nope! It's a chaotic event with high stakes and an impulsively led rescue mission, who's gonna stop the students from going after their own abducted friends? Just comment below with who you want to add and if they're victim or rescuer and it's all good and dandy.

Without further ado, here's the people who are going to give us a lovely New Year.

The Cult
The Ringleader - A cloak wearing woman in her 50's and former faculty of another Nightfall combating school, she lost her son, and in her own moment close to death and losing those loyal in the face of death and abandoned by those who weren't, became Contracted with a Daemon. She can store away charges of power by draining the force from someone already dying, conveniencing the rescue party in that she didn't want to waste a single student while lining them up in an orderly fashion. Among her many borrowed powers, her large claw-like left arm is consistent.

The Memory Reader - A young man in his 20's. Not actually the Ringleader's son, but a former pupil who he bemuses her in wanting to be seen as her new one. Has his own agenda to become heir to the world after Nightfall. In truth, she is aware of his manipulations but knows he is too useful to discard. His facade of caring for people allowed him to be the predominant player in planting doubt and becoming close to Targets in Daybreak. Uses a Runic handgun and knife.
(I don't have a PB for this guy yet... if anyone has suggestions for kind-looking but actually an asshole from obscure canons!)

The Illusionist - A silent individual in their 40's, they are the one depended upon collaborating with the Reader when they need to create false evidence of others' families. Predominantly not a combatant, but will mess with perceptions on who they're attacking and the environment around them. If facing against a Target, can be combined with memories, making for extremely unpleasant experiences. After their defeat all photos of loved ones return to being blank.

The Ghost - (Not actually a ghost.) Playful and cheeky, this girl with her invisibility is responsible for the posters and eventual vandalism. Her fighting style is complete versatility, using objects around her to distress and confuse and maintain the poltergeist theme. During the event serves as one of the guards of the cells.

Turncoat Students - Varying in certainty of their choice, it may be possible to still subdue or change their minds.

The cult ain't small so if you can dream them you can play them guys.

There's also a 90% chance of our heroes burning it all apparently??? I'm all for that. Let's rock and roll.

Okay, late since finals blew up, and putting things in order.

Ky would be a rescue charge, and I hate that Sinbad would be the type to risk being a mole.

As for Sherlock, well Eski (Moriarty's player) and I think they could work as distractions in some compacity, just need to run things by you in what works as distraction.
