This post is for the members of the Student Council to discuss, OOCly, the plans for the Valentines ball. The event itself will take place February 14th and will (ideally) be Valentines themed, but is otherwise up to the Student Council to plan.

We ask that the planning be finished and whatever details the student council wishes to include be submitted no later than midnight the morning of February 10th (Eastern Standard Time). Any details not filled in by the council will be filled in by the mods.

The Student Council is free to make an IC discussion post as well if desired; this post is simply for hashing out the plans for the event.

In keeping with her general distaste for all things romantic, Kohaku's suggestion is to make the theme of the Valentine's Day Ball be 1920s Gangsters as a reference to the Saint Valentine's Day massacre in 1929. In addition to being not disgustingly sentimental and appealing to Kohaku's sometimes offbeat sense of humor, the theme does legitimately work. The 1920s had some GREAT fashion.

Gongenzaka would want something peaceful and romantic, which is definitely clashing a bit with the 20's themeing. He'll even try noting that people probably want something romantic for Valentines, since that is Sort of the Point of the holiday.

(Ultimately if they tone down the Gangsters and bring in 1920s era *valentines* decor he can probably be appeased)

Kohaku will fight anything and everything romantic but ultimately concede the point when she realizes she totally outvoted.

Rex doesn't really care about Valentines so he's not going to suggest any theme stuff, but when one is decided upon he will apply his usual over the top yet also sleepy energy to do any magic/science needed to make it work. Will probably exaggerate any plans, as usual.

Ren has only some experience with dances, but probably would be down with 1920s Valentine's decorations as well.

She would probably try to get away from strictly gangster-related stuff. Add in some flappers, some Gershwin, and maybe some really fancy suits and stuff. Super chic speakeasy.

She also wants some security in case daemons are a thing. So she might try to get some magical guardians that can step in if there's an attack?

Last Valentine's Day was traumatizing okay
