Ghostfeed Unsolved
Reports around the world of hauntings and ‘ghost activity’ has risen significantly. Those with the ability to see ghosts have expressed concerns, not only that it risks breaking the Veil but because many see it as an omen of things to come. Whether it is, in fact, an omen of a future, one way or the other, is yet to be determined, but on the other hand, it is making for some entertaining (albeit concerning) videos.
Festive Violence
Several videos of daemons dressed in various Christmas outfits have gone viral, though since they’re in full costume, people are mercifully writing the whole thing off as a party-crashing joke or mean-spirited interruption at worst. When several Outlands daemons were asked for their opinion on the whole fiasco, they showed signs of actual embarrassment and refused to disclose anything further.
Growing Pains
The creature once known as the second Herald has begun to evolve, and is currently dormant in what seems to be a transitionary phase of development. More information will be provided as this unfolds, though given recent visions, staff assigned to the creature’s care have theorized that this change in life stage is due to the imminent confrontation of another Herald. While the Academy expects no side-effects from being in the creature's proximity, any students or staff who suspect that sicknesses or symptoms may have developed because of it are asked to report their condition to the infirmary staff.
Phantom Gallery
A recent cataloguing of Victorian-era paintings from a rich collector have produced an unusual find - paintings from an unknown artist of what appear to be battles waged between monsters and human figures, often surrounded by a strange mist. The strong hourglass and water symbology present in all of them, as well as their uncanny detail, have led many to speculate that there might be some real-life context at the time that led to these paintings being produced. Others simply wave such things off and express that the artist was merely expressing a characteristic fascination with mortality and time’s decay, much like other painters of the period.
Emperor On Trial
The actions of the Galra in December have provoked a strong response from the supernatural community, including a significant amount of the Academy. As a result, the disgraced Galran emperor Zarkon is currently imprisoned somewhere near campus due to mistrust of the UN, with several of Daybreak’s specialized task forces assigned to keep him securely under control. More information on the situation will be provided as it develops, though matters are expected to come to a head in the next month or so.
