HERALD INFORMATION - UTULTAR

HERALD INFORMATION - UTULTAR
Log Comm | Network Comm | OOC Comm | Navigation
All the relevant things you need to know about your new '’’friend’’’ Utultar, recently introduced after looming ominously, throwing a monster at a crowded parade and ditching like a jerk.
Utultar is a Herald of Nightfall, and is an ancient and powerful daemon who cares little for humanity and would like nothing better than to see them driven to total extinction. To that end, he empowers other like-minded souls and grants them a great deal of power to wreak havoc in order to weaken forces who would try to prevent Nightfall - though, like many daemons, his pride means that having to even rely on anyone in some small way means he resents his contractees and thinks of them, generally, as useful fools who are too weak to grasp power by themselves.
Not all of his powers have been revealed yet, but what is known is his ability to make himself unknown and unseen when he wants to be. Attention slides off him easily, and can be pulled back to him just as easily if he desires it; not only do people ignore him when he wants, they barely seem to remember he existed at all. There have also been rumours from past confrontations that he is easily able to cross between two worlds without being subject to the limitations of lesser creatures, leaving Mist-filled areas that birth twisted monsters and temporary portals leading to the Outlands on Earth.
Involving himself in the affairs of the opposition in order to upgrade nuisances to threats, and threats to disasters, is what he does best. So from this month onward, until Utultar is eventually confronted head-on, he is available for use in player plots. More specifically, he can empower villains or threats in player plots to be bigger, nastier, and empowered by dark, daemonic magic. His meddling with things that should really be left alone may even result in old threats from your character's past coming back to haunt them, if you so desire.
If characters wish to pursue leads about Utultar himself through research, this is also available. Missions and opportunities to gain information on those missions will be provided if people wish to go that route, and it will play a pivotal role in the inevitable battle against him.
This post can be used to ask further questions and for OOC planning for Utultar's use in your own player plots.

I am considering having him by the daemon Ernesto is contracted to either for a) both his charm and the future plot thing, or b) just the future plot thing of erasing one person at a time from all memory etc. If I do this, will Ultultar be alive until the end/late October? And if not, will that destroy the contract?

Would either one work?

I want to slide this into a vision for the next Cassandra, with
Ernestosome guy that can't be seen in-vision speaking to Ultultar/him+underling about acquiring this new power of erasing one person absolutely but only one at a time. I don't really know how Ultultar would word things, however. May I ask for guidance there? (Or give you guys the reigns and just let Ernesto's asking about it be entirely off-screen?)no subject
As for Cassandra visions involving Utultar, Heralds have the ability to make themselves a blindspot to Seers and manipulate visions around themselves, so you would only have to worry about writing Ernesto's dialogue (though you can make up a personality for the underling through dialogue if you'd like). You can handle that aspect however you want.
