MISSION POST - MAY

MISSION POST - MAY
Log Comm | Network Comm | OOC Comm | Navigation

The following events are available for the month of May.

Into the Depths (May 20th)
The little known henge, adrift in a sea of choking fog, has become almost completely obscured from view. Those who are able to peer past this veil report visions of otherworldly Outlands locations that hold a sense of ancient weight. And all the while, the enigmatic dullahan hasn’t left its post; in fact, it seems to be awaiting those brave enough to follow their lead into a realm stranger than even normal Outlands fare.
This event will have its own OOC post for planning and further details on May 5th.

Midnight Howl (May 10th)
Deep in the woods that surround a sleepy Romanian village, the howls of something that’s not quite a wolf can be heard - and in the night, those who are awake to hear it swear that they can hear the sound of the local graveyard being rummaged through and disrupted. Investigate what’s happened, and track down the source before innocent people are harmed - or worse.

Raiders of the Lost Crusade
Templar conspiracies have hit the news again, as a stained glass window was discovered with tell-tale signs common among the Knights Templar strongholds. While staying secretive, the school’s resident Knight Templar is preparing a rushed expedition to collect the secrets before an ill-prepared amateur could get hurt - or worse - releases something that should have been kept secret.
(This is a player plot. More information can be found here.)

At Death’s Doorstep
While Ky Kiske leads his own mission to uncover the secrets hidden away by the organisation he once served hundreds of years ago, Ekkehardt pursues some more specialized leads. He intends to return home in order to re-enact a ritual passed down through his adopted family’s traditions, and cross over into the underworld to ask a fragment of Death about the Templars’ discovery.
(This is a player plot. More information can be found here.)

Ghost Punching With House Cromwell (no set date)
While Urtz has been freed from Annabelle’s influence, this malevolent ghost isn’t out of the fight yet. Having amassed enough power to run wild, Annabelle has retreated to the territory of House Cromwell, which she still - technically - has power over. In order to end her threat and properly lay her to rest, she must be pursued to the final confrontation.
(This is a player plot. More information can be found here.)

Faculty-run/Monthly Events
Mini-prompts that can be incorporated into catchall logs, or made into logs of their own. These prompts count for faculty log AC as long as at least one faculty member is responsible for starting the log, though they can also be joint logs.
Players are free to incorporate these prompts into their own logs, even if they are not faculty.

Lambing Season
A small, hidden farm in the mountains outside the Academy has asked for some voluntary assistance with caring for juvenile Barometz - known in more common folklore as ‘vegetable lambs’. Sweet creatures who are in many respects like normal sheep, they’re tethered to the plants they grow from and require constant care to both feed and protect. The job requires a willingness to work hard, as these sheep have a voracious appetite, but you may be able to acquire a lamb of your very own - if you’re looking and willing to adopt.

Fires in the Woods
As the last lingering traces of winter flee, the will o’ wisps - spirits of unknown motive who serve as capricious guides that can both help and hinder - have come out one last time to dance around the bonfires that can be seen popping up on campus. For those who play along with their dances and mischief, they’ll shower you with small, harmless gifts like flowers, shiny stones and the like; those who refuse (or those unfortunate people that they simply take a dislike to) will be pelted with those ‘gifts’ instead.

Silver Bells and Cockleshells
Warm weather brings with it the natural growing seasons of various plants down in Soleil, and the crop is so abundant this year that there’s been a call for volunteers to help harvest and prepare these plants for use. As such local gardens provide a great deal of both kitchen spices and magical reagents, students and staff with little to do are encouraged to help out. As a reward, volunteers will be allowed to take away some cuttings for their own uses.

Monthly Faculty Outing
With the stress of Nightfall and classes as an ever-looming spectre, even staff need some time off. Whether you’re collecting gossip, unwinding from teaching, or simply just here to socialise with your coworkers, it probably won’t result in anything being set on fire. You hope.
