MISSION POST - JUNE

MISSION POST - JUNE
Log Comm | Network Comm | OOC Comm | Navigation

The following events are available for the month of June.

How To Fight Your Dragon (Mid-June)
In a small village near Sidon, Lebanon, peace has been shattered by constant violence as the inhabitants there turn on one another. The Murakumo Organisation, the leading expert on Dragons and their phenomena, have reported their findings to their representative Emille - this desire for violence and death is due to a Dragon with the ability to brainwash people into killing each other. The solution is clear - seek out the Dragon and neutralize it by any means necessary, before it can take any more lives.
This is a player plot. For more information, stay tuned for the OOC post.

Grand Theft Bird (no set date)
A red-tailed hawk, not native to the area, has been caught by well-meaning wildlife rescuers who want to return him to the wild where he belongs, a continent away. But this particular red-tailed hawk happens to be one of the Academy’s students - not that anyone can actually say that without breaking the Veil, of course. He’ll need to be sprung from captivity without hurting anyone, destroying property (much), accidentally implying illegal activities, or letting on that anything supernatural is going on.
Which is going to be somewhat of an ask.
This is a player plot. For more information, stay tuned for the OOC post.

Into the Depths (Extension)
Due to circumstances being difficult for all, Into the Depths is receiving an extension to allow more players to engage with the log and event. Threads made or continued during June for this log will be able to be counted for June’s AC.

Midsummer Bonfires (June 20th)
Midsummer is a significant time for many in the supernatural community, no matter their more personal views. While last year’s celebrations were more of a well-wishing nature, this year’s midsummer celebrations have taken a more martial turn, as if to remind people of the struggle to come. While a lavish feast is still being held and the traditional bonfires are still being lit, the Academy is calling for willing volunteers to display their skill and power in public displays of combat - both physical and verbal.

Forget You (begins this month)
While this is not a plot that requires an event post as of yet, Héctor’s latest friend drama (unrelated to Daybreak, shockingly) has an information post where you can opt out if necessary.
Information can be found here.

Faculty-run/Monthly Events
Mini-prompts that can be incorporated into catchall logs, or made into logs of their own. These prompts count for faculty log AC as long as at least one faculty member is responsible for starting the log, though they can also be joint logs.
Players are free to incorporate these prompts into their own logs, even if they are not faculty.

Free Market
The swap market is once again opening its stalls for used clothing, weaponry and other trinkets, and is allowing students the chance to sell their own wares under its banner. As a result, you’ll see plenty of advertising for student-run stalls throughout the month of June - you may even have a hand in sponsoring, preparing, or selling for them. To encourage friendly competition, a weekly ranking of which stalls have sold the most is available throughout campus - do your best!

Charms for Luck
Workshops throughout June are being held for the Daybreak tradition of carving, crafting and otherwise putting your own personal touch on charms meant to be burned in the midsummer bonfires in order to strengthen the creator for the trials ahead, whether that's exams or apocalyptic fights. With Nightfall looming closer than ever, some might find special significance in such an act...or you might just be using it as an excuse to get out of work or classes.

Summer Fires
With a new season in full swing comes those creatures ruled by the summer season. An unusually high concentration of fire elementals have come to visit campus, lured by midsummer’s close proximity; while they’re seen as, at the very least, good omens, and their temperaments are generally amenable, students and staff are advised to have water on them at all times. Many of these elementals can get over-enthusiastic about showing off to willing audiences, and may cause small spot fires to start despite their best efforts.

Monthly Faculty Outing
With the stress of Nightfall, tests, classes and recent exams as an ever-looming spectre, even staff need some time off. Whether you’re collecting gossip, unwinding from teaching, or simply just here to socialise with your coworkers, it probably won’t result in anything being set on fire. You hope.
