MISSION POST - DECEMBER

MISSION POST - DECEMBER
Log Comm | Network Comm | OOC Comm | Navigation
The following events are available for the month of December.
A Blessing Of Gratitude [December 10th]
Iriceli is excited for their first holiday season, and wants to do a gift exchange. Everyone who signed up will get a gift from them- but their understanding of what a normal gift is can get just a little bit skewed.
Into The Labyrinth [December 20th]
Utultar has been confirmed as the Fourth Herald and has raised his full power against humanity at last. Once more, Daybreak must confront the end of the world- or else the winter’s night will last forever.
The OOC planning post with further event details can be found here.
Faculty-run/Monthly Events
Mini-prompts that can be incorporated into catchall logs, or made into logs of their own. These prompts count for faculty log AC as long as at least one faculty member is responsible for starting the log, though they can also be joint logs.
Players are free to incorporate these prompts into their own logs, even if they are not faculty.
Menaced By Mistletoe
Some take making Merry more seriously than others, and strung up mistletoe in nearly every door possible. Traditionally, once is supposed to kiss under the mistletoe, removing a berry for each kiss. Normally this was seen as almost mandatory, but modern sensibilities won out, with it being optional (though a good excuse if one wants to work up the courage to confess to their crush).
As plants of the dark winter months, they have symbolic association with spirits, especially as Daybreak took care to harvest them with golden sickles as traditional, so a few of the kissing-boughs end up being temporary hosts to restless spirits that play minor pranks on people - mostly by raining leaves on anyone standing under, or using the plant’s sacred attributes to make passing under them uncomfortable for Daemons and Undead - but they can easily be forced to knock it off.
Preying Presents
Part of the strange ecology of the Outlands lead to various classes of creatures that camouflage themselves as inanimate objects collectively called Mimics. While mostly known for their carnivorous varieties such as the chest, chair and ceiling Mimics, there are some that gain sustenance by feeding on the emotions of surprise and shock, leaving their ‘prey’ unconfused but unharmed. The latter have made their way into the campus, taking the form of presents, christmas crackers (The party favor, not the snack), and even old-fashioned toys. Once sprung, they run off giggling to prepare themselves for their next victims.
