MISSION POST - JANUARY

MISSION POST - JANUARY
Log Comm | Network Comm | OOC Comm | Navigation
The following events are available for the month of January.
The Turning of the Year (January 1st)
A new year dawns bright and cold, and there still exists a world for it to dawn on - a world as everyone knows it, even if the last few months have been something of a harrowing experience. In honor of those who continue to save the world time and time again, there will be both raucous celebration and ample time given to reflect, quietly, on what has gone before - and the last, darkest confrontation to come.
On The Origin Of…? (January 16th)
With the 4th Herald defeated, there is room to breathe - the question can turn from ‘How do we defeat these things’ to ‘why do they exist?’ And ‘how did they come into being?’, and with raiding the step-temple, there is a lot of information to process and piece together. It turns out that new clues to the nature of your old foes can come from unlikely places- Bellona and Mellona have been finally spotted by the Academy, and they’ve been tracked to a location with some very interesting secrets hidden inside...
The Journey’s End (January 10th)
Vivi has been distracted for several months, but now he seems determined to tackle the source of this distraction - by vanishing entirely. The young mage has been spotted departing into the Outlands for unknown purposes as if fixed on some distant goal, leaving only a map to a certain place and the scribblings of several months contained in a journal behind to give a hint to his whereabouts.
This is a player plot.
Faculty-run/Monthly Events
Mini-prompts that can be incorporated into catchall logs, or made into logs of their own. These prompts count for faculty log AC as long as at least one faculty member is responsible for starting the log, though they can also be joint logs.
Players are free to incorporate these prompts into their own logs, even if they are not faculty.
Sweeping out the old The change of the old year to the new is a time to start new, and this often means a top to bottom scrubbing of the Academy and it’s grounds, the smell of sage, pine, and cleaners fill the air. Magical cleansing is especially important, and the Academy is taking the auspicious month to be rid of the cursed and hexed objects it had been confiscating for the past year.
While experienced staff will be taking care of the dangerous ones, students will be learning how to break curses with the safe, mostly annoying objects.
Fortunes of the year to come Whether it’s making sure someone tall and dark-haired is the first to cross Daybreak’s threshold, the ringing clocktower’s bells to eating 365 black-eyed peas, Seers have been pressing people to observe these old traditions to manipulate fortunes in Daybreak’s favor. This also includes getting new clothes for every single person, thus the return of the swap market.
