A Note on Contracting

A NOTE ON CONTRACTING
Log Comm | Network Comm | OOC Comm | Navigation

We’ve been noticing a high degree of interest in Contracts, and the acquisition of more Contracts in-game to further player plots. While this is somewhat unexpected, we’re thrilled to see players taking the setting and using it to further their personal storylines! We wanted to make a note on what that is going to mean for these students - as stated in the initial information pages Contracting is not without risk and danger. While not all of these may apply to everybody, players can expect these occurrences to come up depending on their actions and what they have or have not achieved thus far.

-Staff interventions may occur, especially in the case of new summonings. Students who have acted in a careless manner or who flaunt their contracted status and continue to try to acquire more contracts will be placed under increased scrutiny and may have Faculty intervene in their plots. This could spin a requested plot in an entirely different direction depending on the circumstnaces.
-Contracted players are considered vulnerable when facing plot Daemons. It’s impossible to know who in the Daemon world owes favors to whom, and it may just be that a Daemon you are facing is owed a favor from the daemon you are contracted, in which case those Daemons will be able to use you as a vessel to collect. This could have any number of wide-ranging consequences - none of them will be good.
-Students with spottier records on making good decisions will find themselves under more obvious scrutiny, up to and including having an assigned PC Faculty specifically watching them. That Faculty will have access to all their phone activity and will have a magical tracker access that detects where they are and what they’re doing, to a degree.
