Welcome to the Pre-Game AU Planning Meme for Daybreak Academy! This post is intended to help prospective players plot their AU and figure out who their characters are in this setting and where they want to go, as well as work together with other players to plan future CR, build Secret Societies and Clubs, and generally determine where they want to start their characters, and where they want them to go. In addition to posting up the form, you are encouraged to tag around to other people's forms and discuss potential CR and plans with them. This post is an open forum for all prospective players to hash out interesting ideas for their characters ahead of joining the game.

Not sure where to start? Feel free to look through the Premise and FAQ for notes on what the game is about, and what to expect. We also encourage you to take a look at our information for in-setting Powers and Secret Societies to help flesh out your character's backstory.

CHARACTER NAME: Yusaku Fujiki

BLURB: In canon, he has the dubious honor of probably being the one of the more traumatized of the YGO protagonists since he was literally kidnapped by a madman when he was like six years old and then tortured for half a year with electric shocks in a crazy experiment to create super-AIs. In canon, particularly in his 1st season, he is reticent (until he casually decides to destroy you with words) and ever so slightly revenge-obsessed against the organization run by Ryoken Kogami because of the ties it has to his past. However, under a stoic exterior is the heart of someone with a strong sense of justice.

AU INFORMATION

CHARACTER AU NAME: Yusaku Fujiki
STUDENT OR FACULTY?: Student

CHARACTER BLURB: As an orphan with no other affiliations, Yusaku is a quiet student that keeps to himself. For the most part, he succeeds in keeping a low-profile, aside from the lingering distrust that comes with being one of the Contracted. However, Yusaku has other motives for coming to Daybreak Academy - namely to seek out and destroy the ones who were involved in robbing him of his past.

Ten years ago, he was the subject of a series of horrifying experiments involving kidnapped children. In order to escape with his life, he ended up contracting with the dark Ignis known as “Ai”, who despite his innocuous name, is actually an eldritch abomination of the tentacle-having and people-eating variety. (I am not even kidding.)

Other points:
* He is kind of a genius, even if it is not reflected in his lackluster grades and poor attendance records. Or rather, he’s just very good at what he deems useful to his goals and then kind of hopeless in every other area.
* He is in excellent physical condition due to the intense training he puts himself through, although this is not noticeable when he is in uniform. He is also proficient in multiple weapons
* He also has very poor life habits (not sleeping or eating properly) and non-existent self-care skills.

PRE-ESTABLISHED CR: He and Ryoken Kogami share some kind of complex and ambiguous past that will be kind of hinted at. (i.e. Ryoken’s daddy was the one who kidnapped him and performed inhumane experiments on which kind of puts a damper on most relationships.)

DESIRED CR:
* What this boy really needs is the healing power of friendship (which is kind of ironic for a YGO protagonist). He really does desire human connection but b/c of his past, this is difficult for him to achieve and he is much more receptive to people who have undergone similar difficulties to him.
* Blease talk to him, he’s lonely
* On the flip side, please also come make his life harder if you hate Contracted people
* also if you are something from an evil organization who may have kidnapped children at one point or you were a child kidnapped by an evil organization at one point pls hit him up too


OTHER: He also has a magical boy transformation.

Yusaku is 16, so I guess he would be in h grade 11 or the equivalent, depending on the school system!

I'm just really excited though, because one of the hardest things for anyone playing from...any of the series honestly is finding the other half of some kind of rival pair or best friend pair, or similar but here's Yusaku ahhhhh,

Gongenzaka is neither running an organization nor formerly kidnapped by one but he's a nice boy with a pushy(ish) best friend so at the very least he may talk

So that's something. He'll be a born Lycan, if that affects things (I somehow suspect Not tho...)

Well, Yusaku does his best to keep ppl at a polite distance, but Gongenzaka's upright attitude and overall sense of honor would def earn a lot of goodwill from him. 10/10 would break some kind of rule to help you if you got in trouble. ]
