Welcome to the Pre-Game AU Planning Meme for Daybreak Academy! This post is intended to help prospective players plot their AU and figure out who their characters are in this setting and where they want to go, as well as work together with other players to plan future CR, build Secret Societies and Clubs, and generally determine where they want to start their characters, and where they want them to go. In addition to posting up the form, you are encouraged to tag around to other people's forms and discuss potential CR and plans with them. This post is an open forum for all prospective players to hash out interesting ideas for their characters ahead of joining the game.

Not sure where to start? Feel free to look through the Premise and FAQ for notes on what the game is about, and what to expect. We also encourage you to take a look at our information for in-setting Powers and Secret Societies to help flesh out your character's backstory.

I'm sorry to see you came down with a bad case of the Feelings, Michael. Humans will do that to you.

Minako is a Tamer with a contract that, until recently, she wasn't aware she had. Whoops. She also has the unique talent of being able to contract with multiple daemons, so that might be of interest to someone as powerful as he is.

He has, at least once, hugged humans while crying about how much he loves them. It's a terminal case.

At this point in time, he's softened enough that he probably wouldn't really contract with anyone, or else he'd do it on some stupid condition that was definitely not their eternal soul. But he would certainly be interested in her on a professional level - you don't see that too often. Also, he thinks a contract the human isn't aware of is super shitty actually??? He might end up hovering.

Basically, a hunter was fighting a daemon and, knowing that they could not defeat it, sealed it inside of her. So she's been existing for about 10 years now with a dormant daemon inside, and while she's technically considered a contracted, she's also extremely atypical. It's assumed by the faculty that one day that daemon will get out, and she's at the Academy both to hone her powers, and to keep her in check.

So yeah. It's a really shitty situation tbh. But she's just so darn chipper that you would never know it.

Well, make friends with Michael and he will dedicate his fucking immortal life to eating this demon alive! Possibly literally. He goes 0 to 100 pretty quick.

Oh no, bless him. I'm completely canon blind but I adore this man already.

Unfortunately, I have no idea what his current power level might be post-ending up here. Probably less than most regular daemons just for the sake of game balance? But you know, it's the thought that counts!

I definitely thought I responded to this yesterday, but sickness brain lied to me :c

So regardless of what his power level is, it looks like he has some connection to Kano? Which means he probably would at least know about Minako by extension, since they're from the same orphanage. She's acting ringleader of their little gang.

I've also been working a little with her backstory, and with that in mind, it might be interesting if Michael knew about her being Contracted before she becomes aware of it herself. She will be Awakening to it about a month or two before game start.

No worries! I barely responded to anything yesterday anyway, I was doing stuff.

YEAH SO we've been working that out, but basically Michael is the daemon who Contracted Kano, and he can see through his eyes whenever he wants, so basically he is definitely aware of Minako, and probably knows more about her than she realizes. Which is creepy. It was kind of a creepy deal.

He did start actually hanging around Kano in person as he started to get more attached to him, so he would probably have also met Minako face-to-face. Seems like he would have been able to pick up on her Contract! It's totally possible that he wouldn't have said anything about it to her before she found out, though - he probably assumed she knew, since generally that's how these things go.
