Welcome to the Pre-Game AU Planning Meme for Daybreak Academy! This post is intended to help prospective players plot their AU and figure out who their characters are in this setting and where they want to go, as well as work together with other players to plan future CR, build Secret Societies and Clubs, and generally determine where they want to start their characters, and where they want them to go. In addition to posting up the form, you are encouraged to tag around to other people's forms and discuss potential CR and plans with them. This post is an open forum for all prospective players to hash out interesting ideas for their characters ahead of joining the game.

Not sure where to start? Feel free to look through the Premise and FAQ for notes on what the game is about, and what to expect. We also encourage you to take a look at our information for in-setting Powers and Secret Societies to help flesh out your character's backstory.

AU INFORMATION

CHARACTER AU NAME: Jamie Hemeros
STUDENT OR FACULTY?: student. age 14, so grade...7? 8? something thereabouts.
CHARACTER BLURB: Rune Guardling from an established line of Guards whose specialty is making Rune Armors shaped like animals, because they're all secret furries. Also lion/dinosaur/bird armor is rad. (I'm like 87% joking but if non-humanoid Rune Armors could theoretically be a thing I am so on board with it.) Whereas Jamie's dad was an active soldier, going out and punching darkness in the face and whatnot, Jamie prefers to focus on theory and craft, researching and perfecting new ways of imbuing armors with magic. The fact that his dad was badly injured during a mission when Jamie was very young plays a large part in this; he's pretty terrified of actually fighting and instead wants to make armors stronger, safer, and more resilient, so that those who wear them don't end up horribly maimed during combat.
Unfortunately he's also a Candle so it's time to learn how to fight off otherworldly evil. His powers manifested a few months ago, so he's a newcomer to the academy. Jamie is 9000% not-stoked about this but it's his destiny so whatever. He's a good student academically but notably skittish about actual fighting.
Originally from the southwestern USA. Speaks decent Spanish but it's probably useless on the Continent because of dialectical differences. His family is of Greek ancestry.
PRE-ESTABLISHED CR: other Rune Guards possibly ones who are intrigued/bewildered by Jamie's clan's theoretical animal armors.
DESIRED CR: teachers willing to sass/encourage him into being a paragon of manliness in combat. anybody who likes lurking around the hangar ogling the magick planes, because you bet your ass Jamie's gonna be doing a lot of that. fellow nerd/researcher types, or non-nerdy types who want to drag him into shenanigans. Bad Influences.

Animal Rune Armors aren't any weirder than Rune Armors that transform into cars and trucks.

omg that's an awesome idea, i love it. Jamie would be intrigued and impressed with this novel approach to armor construction.

if they haven't heard of each other's guilds already, maybe they can meet on campus and talk shop?

Sarona's brand of runic inscription involves body tattoos (including some that give the Guard mental control over their armors). The Inkmetal Forge is kind of infamous for their tattoos, although her family itself is actually affiliated with some posh fancy guild called the Runesmiths.

Sarona won't care if he's peak manly and would appreciate his nerdiness way more. She's a huge nerd herself. Just the asshole I'm A Prodigy So I Know I'm Amazing type.
