Player Plot (Kagerou): OOC Sign-ups and Plotting

Hihi, Cardori here bringing you a Kagerou-inspired player plot that basically goes to show that Contracts and Daemon summoning are BAD, don't do it, friends. This event is split into two sides, which I will unimaginatively refer to as Side A (Kagerou) and Side B (Daybreak). ICly, this plot will take place towards the latter half of May (20- 23-???) and is expected to last at most two or three days, while OOCly, the log will go up at the beginning of May to give ample time for playing. Please let me know if any days will or will not work for you!

Background
Kano has unfortunately taken an interest in daemon summoning, and in the process of """research""" inadvertently summons the daemon Saeru. Saeru is a member of a group of snake daemons who are trapped in the Outlands and can only escape by one of two ways: 1) a summoning, or 2) by inhabiting the body of a person who has died or has a near death experience, whose mind is temporarily frozen and thus susceptible to possession. In this initial summoning, Saeru overpowers Kano and a nearby NPC (who I will be playing), and possesses the NPC. In this NPC's body, Saeru infiltrates Daybreak with the intent to kill as many people as possible in order to create vessels the other snakes can inhabit. Saeru specifically kills people in pairs, and here is where the two sides come in--

Side A
One half of the pair who is attacked will be pulled to the Outlands in an area called the Kagerou Daze. This area manifests as a reflection of either the person's death or their fears. (e.g. Kido dies in a house fire and finds herself trapped in a burning room full of stairs leading up to doors with no exits (death); Kano finds himself in an unfamiliar city completely devoid of people, light, sight, or sound (fear))

Characters trapped in the Kagerou Daze must figure out how to escape, with their environment hindering their exit. (e.g. Kido having to find the door containing the exit amongst the heat and smog; Kano having to navigate the streets without sight or sound)

Players are free to create their own worlds and puzzles, or I can write them up and play DM! While everybody's "world" is different, the Kazerou Daze is one continuous place and characters may meet up in each other's "world" and help each other escape, although only the person whose "world" it is can leave through the exit of their "world." Upon escaping the Kagerou Daze, the character will find on their person a round, iridescent stone. Hold onto that for a sec--

Side B
The other half of the pair remain at Daybreak, temporarily possessed by a snake daemon. These characters will remember dying along with their partner, but will have short term amnesia spanning the 5-10 minutes after the attack. They will not necessarily feel any different from the possession, though others sensitive to daemons might and the daemons who possess these characters remain dormant, for the most part. It's a benign, helpful, barely noticeable relationship. Like gut flora. In exchanged for being housed, the daemon grants the character a power that relates to a wish. (e.g. Momo is overshadowed by her genius older brother and gains the ability to draw people's attention to her; Seto wants to understand people better and gains the ability to read people's minds; Kano wishes to hide the physical evidence of abuse and gains the ability to disguise himself)

Meanwhile, Saeru goes in for round two: their intent this time is to target the possessed characters and kill them permanently, with the goal of absorbing the corresponding snakes' powers. Unlike the others, Saeru does not believe in symbiosis. Obviously, this will quickly attract a lot of attention, but also several things to keep in mind:
1) Saeru possesses the body of an innocent student, with the threat of harming this student in a hostage situation.
2) If Saeru is eliminated too quickly, there will be little to no lead on what happened to the Side A characters, so maybe find a way to make Saeru talk!
3) The NPC's wish Saeru granted as their power is incredible physical strength and endurance, so it'll be a tough battle if you really want to go for it.

Aftermath
How Saeru will be dealt with will be up to Side B characters! The NPC's fate is also in your hands... Side A characters who successfully escape and meet up with their partnered Side B characters will find that the stone grows hot the closer they are. When both characters touch the stone at the same time... I'll leave you this cliffhanger until the log goes up.

The other snake daemons may hang around a couple days longer, but honestly... bad idea... At the end of the month, they will either be eliminated or leave on their own accord, and the powers granted by them will also disappear.
