Welcome to the Pre-Game AU Planning Meme for Daybreak Academy! This post is intended to help prospective players plot their AU and figure out who their characters are in this setting and where they want to go, as well as work together with other players to plan future CR, build Secret Societies and Clubs, and generally determine where they want to start their characters, and where they want them to go. In addition to posting up the form, you are encouraged to tag around to other people's forms and discuss potential CR and plans with them. This post is an open forum for all prospective players to hash out interesting ideas for their characters ahead of joining the game.

Not sure where to start? Feel free to look through the Premise and FAQ for notes on what the game is about, and what to expect. We also encourage you to take a look at our information for in-setting Powers and Secret Societies to help flesh out your character's backstory.

BLURB: kale is broly from an alternate universe where he's a cute girl who refuses to release her terrible power because she's afraid her girlfriend will be mad at her for being stronger than she is. the first time she used her true power she was the cause of like 4 universes being erased from existence. then she fused with her gf and died.

CHARACTER BLURB:

Kale is a human and part of a clan of humans subjugated by the demon lord Frieza. After spending most of his life beneath the thumb of this maniacal despot, kale's father, paragus, made a deal with a daemon who sought to overthrow Frieza so they could wipe out the competition...only, he didn't feel like endangering himself in the process, so offered up his daughter Kale in his place. This granted Kale an immense amount of power...which she never got to use, as Frieza was killed before Kale could be used against him (as mentioned here). Rather than be glad the subjugation of his people ended, Paragus was actually super bitter over the fact he never got to use his daughter to overthrow such a hated figure and become a hero, so he developed a mighty grudge against them instead...cause he's just, like, not the best guy if he was going to use his only child as a weapon.

In any case, he was fine with sending her away as quickly as possible to the academy because not knowing how to control her immense power would end badly for him, so he'd rather it all happen as far away as possible from where he is.

PRE-ESTABLISHED CR: If you'd like to throw yourself into formerly tormented human clan, be my guest. or you know app new movie broly as her brother once that movie's out i'll cry if i get angry siblings. i doubt anyone wants to play a shitheel dad but i guess the option's there
DESIRED CR: she'll be brand new to school so by all means, be her friend. she needs friends, she doesn't have caulifla in this AU so she's sadder than canon.

Would Kale like to make friends with a living Tesla coil? He isn't a brawler, preferring to fight at a range, but he's a good dude, nice, and also looking for more friends.

absolutely! the only person she's known in her life up until school is her dad so literally anyone is a step up

teach her all about friendship and how it's actually pretty good

Kale without an arrogant tsundere friend in her life just feels wrong. I can volunteer Tatsumaki? She is...um. Not the most pleasant person, but she is protective over the people who matter most to her. She's also got psychic powers, so maybe that could help with keeping Kale's rage in check?

her brand of short and angry is just what kale needs

there's sadly no room in her proposed AU for them to know each other like, beforehand, but i'm totally down for friends once they've met

In this AU, Tatsumaki is going to be both a Flame and a Seer, and her Seer powers come with the unfortunate side effect of making her temporarily blind for a while after the vision, plus the visions can come on out of nowhere. She's forced to be more cooperative than in canon because of that inconvenient side effect.

After she and Kale become friends, I could see her addressing Kale's self-esteem issues with something like "Only a stupid or desperate person would trust a weakling to have their backs. Are you saying I'm stupid or desperate?!"

That'd actually be extremely helpful for her development I have planned, because she basically has the exact same skillset as canon except the source is a daemon contract with what is probably the outland equivalent of dbz broly, but if she trains hard enough she'll get the super saiyan 2 state she got in canon before she fused with Caulifla, so Tatsumaki pushing her could definitely get her to focus on that instead of trying to suppress her powers and never use them which is what she'll be like once she's in-game.

Tatsumaki would approve of Kale trying to become stronger and reach her potential instead of suppressing things. She might even express open approval eventually rather than just a nod and "Continue not getting in my way" which is probably how she'll first show her approval of Kale's progress.
